Welcome to My Website!
Hi Hi Hello! My name is Nicole Ann Bagalso, a 1.5-Generation Filipino College Student, amateur philosopher and aspiring multi-media digital artist. I love to dabble in all sorts of art mediums, but I would say I am well-versed in illustration, video editing, and animation (perhaps even a novice 3D designer). Ever since I began my time attending San Jose State University, I've accumulated hours upon hours working with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, and with Blender. Additionally, after learning how to code for the first time, I have begun to experiment and expand my horizons on individual interactivity, and this portfolio is just the beginning.
I dive deep into my own nostalgia, and in my endeavor to place emphasis on my own experiences and knowledge, while I do appreciate modernized technology, I am also an absolute sucker for retro aesthetics and archival looks. My real, favorite instrument for my artistry, is my camcorder, which is something I consider to be a piece of technology encapsulating my existence, but with my own tweaks and tricks, it can become otherworldly, and present an inbetween in time. I am filled with the overarching desire to consume and produce media, that I myself am inspired by, and would inspire those who view my art—whether they understand my point of view upon it or not.
Furthermore, I would say that I am a total cinephile and videogame enthusiast. In all my current 20 years of living on this earth, I would say some of the movies that have influenced me the most are: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004), Happy Old Year (2019), Look Back (2024), and Dìdi (2024). But in terms of videogames, it's hard to pick only a few, for single player games: OFF (2008), Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light (2009), and Omori (2020), have got to be some of my biggest hyperfixations ever. Yet, cooperative games, or at least games that have the ability to be cooperative, have earned my heart: Minecraft (2011), Warframe (2013), Bloodborne (2015), and Destiny 2 (2017). These games have one specific thing in common alongside my favorite movies, as those single player games emulate and attempt to conceptualize it, there is nothing that defeats my love for human connection and reality. I have always dreamed of writing and connecting with others through something even reminiscent of game aesthetics and different realms. I wish to continue to pursue communication through art and technology, and cannot wait to struggle, overcome, and evolve upon it.
